T/Sgt. Bob Robar, local Air Force recruiter, has announced the
recent enlistment in the Air Force of Diane Kay Paasch. Diane
is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Paasch of 509 N. Rath
Ave. Prior to her enlistment she was employed by the Starlite
Theater in Ludington. She is a 1964 graduate of Ludington High
School, where she was a member of the band and also an honor
roll student. Diane may claim the distinction of having
attained the highest aptitude test results of any WAF enlistee
from Mason County. She has been nominated by Sgt. Robar as the
top WAF applicant from the state of Michigan. Sgt. Robar is at
the Ludington post office each Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m.
until 2:30 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Willard Paasch of 509 N. Rath Ave., announce the
engagement of their daughter, Miss Diane Kay Paasch, to Albert
Franklin Flowers of Wilson, N. C., son of Mrs. Thurman Flowers
of Washington, D. C., and Wilson, N.C. Both Miss Paasch and her
fiance are airmen third class, stationed at Barksdale Air Force
Base at Shreveport, La., where the wedding is to take place in
an Air Force chapel, Saturday, Oct. 23.

Miss Diane Kay Paasch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard L.
Paasch of 509 N. Rath Ave., and Todd Flowers, son of Mrs.
Thurman Flowers of Washington, D.C., exchanged their wedding
vows Saturday evening, Oct. 23, in Chapel Two of Barksdale Air
Force Base in Louisiana. The double-ring service was read by
Capt. Walter Mattison, chaplain. The bride's ring was that of
her maternal great grandmother.
Pale pink and white gladioli filled gold altar vases and
baskets in the chapel.
Prelude and traditional wedding marches were played by Mrs.
Marcia Cox.
Attending the couple were Miss Diane L. McCready of Akron, 0.,
and Lindsay Scott of Pikeville, N.C. Gene Laniere of
Chattahoochee, Fla., and William Brady of Miami, Fla., were
ushers.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of
white baroness satin made with round neckline, bell skirt and a
jacket of Chantilly lace with long sleeves pointed over her
hands and pearl buttons at the wrists. Her elbow-length double
veil of silk illusion was attached to a Victoria crown of
handset pearls. Her gown and veil were made by her mother.
The bride carried a single long-stemmed dark red rose on a
white Bible.
The bride's maid of honor wore a floor-length gown of blush
pink boucle-textured crepe in empire style. Her headpiece was
of pink petals and tulle and she carried a long-stemmed white
rose on a white Bible.
Mrs. Paasch, mother of the bride, wore a street-length dress of
pale blue lace over taffeta with a matching hat. She wore black
accessories and a corsage of pale pink carnations.
Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Willard L. Paasch,
Mrs. Ted Parkinson and Miss Kelly Lynn Parkinson of Ludington.
The bride, who was graduated from Ludington Senior High School
with the Class of 1964, has a rank of Airman third class, and
is a medical technician, in the Women's Air Force at Barksdale
Air Force Base, La.
The bridegroom, a graduate in the Class of 1959 from a Wilson,
N. C., high school, attended Columbia University in Washington,
D.C. His rank is Airman second class. He is a registrar at the
base hospital, Barksdale Air Force Base, La. After a wedding
trip to Wilson, N.C., the bridal couple will reside at 536
Gladstone, Shreveport, La.
Mr. and Mrs. Paasch, parents of the bride, were host and
hostess at a rehearsal dinner held at Powell's Restaurant in
Bossier City, La.
NOTE: Bridegroom flunked out of Guilford College [NC] due to
too much devotion to the game of Bridge. He never attended
Columbia University.
