Mrs Edith E .J. Sanders, 54, of 913 North Gaylord Avenue died
at 3 AM tody at Muskegon Sanatorium hospital after being in
failing health for some time.
She was born Edith Edytha Jane Severson, Oct. 17 1901, in Elk
Rapids. She came here as a child, living here the major part of
her life. For few years she lived in Detroit and Grand Rapids.
Mrs Sanders was an inspector of the game board division of
Carrom Industries, Inc., and a member of Local 132, UAW. She
served as recording secretary of Allied Labor Council of Mason
County.
Surving are four daughters, Mrs. Orla (Loretta) Simmons of
Silvis, Ill., Mrs. Eli (Irma) Atlogich of Earlville, Ill., Mrs.
Daniel (Betty) Boone who is living in Germany and Mrs. Richard
(Edytha) Biggerstaff, Jr. of Chicago: Seven sons, Warrant
Officer Lawrence F. Sanders who is serving with the Army in
Germany, Marshall F. Sanders of Denver, Colo., Lee E. and
George W. Sanders of Chicago, A/1C Robert S. Sanders who is
serving with the Air Force in Germany, A/1C Relis H. Sanders
who is serving with the Air Force in Japan, Pfc Edwin J.
Sanders who is serving with the Army in Arizona, two brothers,
Robert Severson of Ludington and Russell Severson of Detroit;
three sisters, Mrs, Leo Lasley of Whitmore Lake, Mrs Mel
Howarth of Pontiac and Mrs. Clare Bush of Detroit; 35
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be announced later by Dorrell Funeral
home, pending the arrival of her children from Germany and
Japan.
