North Victory, Mason County, Michigan.

She was born in Lyons, Mich., Sept. 27th, 1845. Her age was 67
years, five months, and nine days. She was married to

Smith were poineers, settling in Grant township when that
section was a wilderness. Mrs. Smith familiarly known as "Aunt
Mary" was beloved by all who enjoyed the honor of her
acquaintance, and her loving deeds will never die. Nor will
the influence of her Christian life.

Nearly fifty teams followed the remains to the cemetery. The
floral offerings were very profuse attesting the profound
respect entertained for the deceased.

"Weep not for a mother deceased,
Our loss is her infinite gain,
A soul out of prison released
And freed from its bodily chain.
With songs let us follow her flight,
And mount with her spirits above,
Escaped to the mansions of light
And loged in the Eden of Love."
